Cross Country Athletes of the Week for October 8, 2018

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Sam Brunnette (Plymouth State) – Senior – Newport Center, Vt.
Brunnette was named LEC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season after winning Westfield State's James Earley Invitational with a time of 25:08.6, which was nearly 20 seconds better than the runner-up's time (25:26.99). The Panthers placed fourth among the 29 teams at the race.

Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Carlos Rivera (UMass Dartmouth) – Freshman – Lowell, Mass.
Rivera was named the LEC Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after placing 11th overall at Westfield State's James Earley Invitational with a time of 26:26.4, helping lead the Corsairs to a second-place team finish in the 29-team field.

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

Jessica O'Reilly (UMass Dartmouth) – Junior – Millis, Mass.
O'Reilly was named the LEC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season after placing sixth overall at Westfield State's James Earley Invitational with a time of 18:52.57 on the 5K course. The Corsairs finished 17th in the 29-team field.

Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Kim Bowles (Plymouth State) – Freshman – Wonalancet, N.H.
Bowles picked up her third LEC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week award of 2018 after placing 28th at Westfield State's James Earley Invitational with a time of 19:45.83, which was the fifth-fastest time among all LEC competitors. The Panthers placed seventh among the 29 teams competing in the event.
