DANBURY, Conn. - The Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball team will meet Roger Williams University in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships at Stevens Institute of Technology's Canavan Arena in Hoboken, NJ beginning on Friday, November 14.
The eight-team field continues on Saturday and Sunday, November 15 and 16 with the regional winner moving on to the finals at the Freeman Center in Newport News, Virginia from November 21-23.
The Colonials, 25-10, captured the Little East Conference Tournament championship on Sunday with a convincing 3-1 victory over Eastern Connecticut State University. Along with their sixth LEC title came one of 44 automatic berths into the NCAA Tournament.
Roger Williams, 22-5, captured the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament this past weekend with a 3-1 win over Salve Regina University.
Others in the Stevens Regional are Liberty League champions Clarkson University (34-3) vs. CUNYAC winner Hunter College (24-14); at-large invitee Tufts University (21-8) vs. NEWMAC champions Springfield College (20-10); and the Ducks (31-6) and Empire 8 champions vs. MASCAC title holders Framingham State University.
