Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week September 9, 2019

Player of the Week

Anastasia Startseva (Salem State) – Senior - Volgograd, Russia
Startseva earned two wins at first singles and doubles in Salem State's 6-3 LEC victory over Castleton to open the Vikings' 2019 season. The senior won her top flight singles match in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) and teamed with classmate Meredith Macdonald (Lynn, Mass.) for an 8-2 win at first doubles.

Rookie of the Week

Jenna Lisi (Rhode Island College) – Freshman - Cranston, R.I.
Lisi posted a combined 6-0 record for the week. She began her collegiate career with an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles before posting a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles in a 9-0 non-conference win over Wentworth before notching an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles and a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles in a 9-0 non-conference triumph over Curry. Lisi capped the week with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles and an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles in an 8-1 conference victory over UMass Boston.
