Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week for September 9, 2019

Offensive Player of the Week

Grace McGettrick (UMass Boston) – Sophomore - Forward - Marshfield, Mass.
McGettrick registered three goals in the Beacons' 2-0-0 week including a pair in their 2-1 win over the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. She then netted her third goal of the week in UMass Boston's 3-0 win over Simmons on Saturday. Three of her four total shot attempts for the week found the back of the net.

Defensive Player of the Week

Emily Baker (Southern Maine) - Senior - Defense - Brunswick, Maine
One of the Huskies' center backs, Baker led USM's defense to a pair of shutout wins last week. Over the two games, the Huskies outscored their opponents 6-0, with a 3-0 road win at Colby-Sawyer and a 3-0 win versus Maine-Farmington. Baker also contributed to the Southern Maine's offense, recording her first collegiate goal in the victory over Maine-Farmington on a direct kick in the 84th minute.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Kayla Gorman (Southern Maine) – Freshman - Windham, Maine
Gorman earned a pair of wins, making 10 saves without allowing a goal over 176:55 minutes played for the Huskies, and has yet to allow a goal through the first 267 minutes of her collegiate career. In the 3-0 road win at Colby-Sawyer, Gorman made a career-best seven saves in her 86:55 played before capping the week with a three-save effort over 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Maine-Farmington.

Rookie of the Week

Allie Gross (Southern Maine) – Freshman - Defense - Saco, Maine
Gross recorded her first collegiate points in Southern Maine's 3-0 win over Maine-Farmington, netting what proved to be the game-winner just 3:55 into the match. Starting in the Huskies' backfield, Gross helped the Huskies to a pair of shutout wins.
