OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Aileen Maloney (Trumbull, Conn.), Junior, Western Connecticut

Maloney scored the only two goals of the match, one of which was on a penalty kick, as Western Connecticut downed LEC rival Keene State 2-0 to remain undefeated (8-0-0) for the season.  

 

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Krista Petersen (Wallingford, Conn.), Senior, Eastern Connecticut

The center back played every minute of the match for the seventh time in nine contests, limiting UMass Dartmouth to only four overall shots (one on goal) as the Warriors extended their unbeaten streak in Little East Conference regular-season games to 20 (19-0-1) with a 2-0 home win.

 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK - Jillian Fernandez (Columbia, Conn.), Senior, Western Connecticut

Fernandez stopped each of the eight shots on goal she faced as the Colonials recorded a 2-0 LEC victory over Keene State to keep Western Connecticut undefeated (8-0-0) for the season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Carissa Gaglione (West Warwick, R.I.), Freshman, Rhode Island College

Gaglione was 2-0-0 in her two appearances in goal for the Anchorwomen last week. She picked up the win after playing in the second half of a 5-3 win over Dean before playing all 90 minutes and totaling five stops in a 3-0 LEC win over Southern Maine.
