PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The Little East Conference continues its Game of the Season coverage this Saturday, October 1 with a women's soccer intra-state rival match-up as the defending LEC champion Western Connecticut State Colonials travel to face the Eastern Connecticut State Warriors at Thomas Nevers Field at 1:00 p.m. The LEC match will be web-streamed online in HD exclusively at LittleEast.TV.

This match-up is the second of five scheduled LEC Game of the Season webcasts this fall as the LEC will stream a total of five key games across all of its fall sports online at LittleEast.TV. All of the Game of the Season games are webcasted for free and will include live updates on the official LEC twitter page along with live stats.

Eastern Connecticut State (7-2, 2-0 LEC) enters the match in the midst of a three game win streak, including a 3-1 victory over previously undefeated Plymouth State last Saturday. The Warriors have a bevy of experienced players returning for the 2016 season, including all five of their 2015 LEC All-Conference performers in Warriors' leading scoring Emily Becher, Hailey Lehning, McKenzie Reimondo, Maggie Bodington and Jamie Belden.

Emily Becher's five goals lead the Warriors offense that has scored 17 goals during the current 2016 campaign and have posted a 1.09 goals against average. The Warriors enter the weekend 2-0 at home (4-2 road). The Warriors and the 2015 LEC Coach of the Year, Chris D'Ambrosio are poised to make a run for the program's fifth LEC championship and its first since 2011.

The defending LEC champion Western Connecticut State (6-4-1, 1-1 LEC) enters the weekend with the 2015 LEC Player of the Year, Autumn Sorice leading the charge offensively. Sorice currently leads the LEC with eight goals scored and 19 total points (3 assists).

Celia DeVoe and goalkeeper Jillian Fernandez, both 2015 All-Conference performers, also return for a Colonials team that has scored 20 goals (2.0 per game) and posted a .133 goals against average. DeVoe leads the Colonials with four assists this season and Fernandez has worked 916:31 minutes in goal as the Colonials last line of defense.

Western Connecticut is led by new head coach Alex Harrison. Harrison was named head coach after five seasons as the Colonials assistant under former head coach Joe Mingachos (now men's head coach).

In Little East Conference history, the Warriors (4) and the Colonials (8) have combined for 12 conference championships and 15 regular season titles.

Our next Game of the Season will feature the women's tennis rivalry between the 2015 LEC Champion UMass Dartmouth and the up-and-coming UMass Boston squad that has won three-straight matches for the first time since 2010. The Corsairs will travel to face the Beacons on Saturday, October 8 at 1 p.m. on the campus of UMass Boston.
