PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After posting a conference record of 14-2 during the regular season, UMass Dartmouth has secured the No. 1 seed in next week's Little East Conference (LEC) Women's Basketball Championship Tournament and will host the LEC's Final Four February 22-23. The Corsairs enter the LEC tournament with an overall record of 21-4, and are looking to capture claim their first-ever conference tournament championship.
Eastern Connecticut secured the No. 2 seed in this year's tournament with a league record of 12-4, and have an overall record of 17-8. The Warriors are in search of their sixth LEC title, and, along with UMass Dartmouth, receive a first round bye.
No. 3 Southern Maine (15-10, 11-5 LEC) and No. 4 UMass Boston (17-8, 10-6 LEC) will host First Round games Tuesday, February 19. The Huskies will take on No. 6 Castleton (14-11, 6-10 LEC), while the defending tournament champion Beacons will host No. 5 Rhode Island College (17-8, 9-7 LEC).
