Player of the Week

Mya Villard (Eastern Connecticut) – Junior – Forward – Cromwell, Conn.
Villard was named the Little East Conference Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after averaging 23 points and 14 rebounds per game while shooting 66.7 percent (16-24) from the field and 82.4 percent (14-17) from the line in a 2-0 week for the Warriors. She has season-high totals of 34 points and 19 rebounds to go with three assists and three blocked shots in a 99-70 victory at cross-state rival Western Connecticut before netting 12 points with nine boards in a 69-57 win at Plymouth State. Villard is tied for the conference lead in rebounding (10.1 rpg), rank third in field goal percentage (55.1) and is sixth in the league in scoring (16.6 ppg).

Rookie of the Week

Julie Keckler (Eastern Connecticut) – Freshman – Guard – Trumbull, Conn.
Keckler repeats as the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week after averaging 10.5 points, six assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in a pair of conference wins for the Warriors. She played the role of distributor in a 99-70 victory at Western Connecticut, dishing out 10 assists to go with her four points and five rebounds in the game. The freshman then dropped in 17 points while going 5-of-7 from the field and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe in Eastern's 69-57 triumph at Plymouth State. Keckler ranks fourth in the LEC in free throw percentage at 81.8 percent, which is best among the league's rookies, and ranks fifth in the conference with 27 assists.
