Player of the Week

Nakira Examond (UMass Dartmouth) – Senior – Forward – New Bedford, Mass.
Examond was named the Little East Conference Player of the Week after averaging 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while leading the Corsairs to league victories over Southern Maine (65-61) and Plymouth State (72-44). The senior scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds over 25 minutes in the win over the Huskies before netting 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field while pulling down 11 boards over 19 minutes in the victory over the Panthers.

Rookie of the Week

Julie Keckler (Eastern Connecticut) – Freshman – Guard – Trumbull, Conn.
Keckler was named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week going off for a career-high 25 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor and an 8-for-9 showing at the line to lead the Warriors to a 75-70 conference win over UMass Boston Saturday. She also had five rebounds and three assists in the home victory, and was 3-for-4 at the line over the final 10.3 seconds of the game to seal the win. The freshman entered that contest averaging just 7.2 points per game.
