WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti), Sophomore, UMass Boston
Jonathas was named Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the seventh consecutive week after swept the sprint events at the LEC/NEA Championships. She won the 60-meter dash in 7.65 seconds after clocking in at 7.63 seconds in the prelims, won the 200-meter dash in 24.93 seconds and took home the 400-meter dash in 58.13 seconds. Her prelim time in the 60 and finals time in the 200 set new LEC and NEA records.
WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.), Senior, UMass Boston
Driggers was named LEC Field Athlete of the Week for the first time this season after winning the LEC and NEA title in the long jump with a conference and alliance record leap of 5.78 meters, and placing second in the LEC and NEA in the triple jump with a leap of 11.53 meters. She now ranks third in the nation in the long jump and 14th in the triple jump.
WOMEN'S TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Shayna Cousineau (Cranston, R.I.), Freshman, Rhode Island College
Cousineau was named LEC Track Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season after winning winning the LEC title and placing fourth in the NEA standings in the 5,000 (19:15.93), placing second in the LEC and fourth in the NEA in the 3,000 (11:07.06), and placing ninth overaall and fourth in the LEC in the 800 (2:32.65).
WOMEN'S FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Chelsea Yang (Warwick, R.I.), Freshman, Rhode Island College
Yang was named LEC Field Rookie of the Week for the sixth-time this season after winning the LEC and NEA title in the weight throw with her toss of 16.99 meters, which currently ranked her 12th in the nation. She was 14th overall and seventh in the LEC in the shot put (10.08m).
WOMEN'S RELAY TEAM OF THE WEEK - 4x200-Meter Relay Team, UMass Boston
UMass Boston's team of sophomore Ashley Hernandez (Miami, Fla.), senior Lexy Bean (Danvers, Mass.), senior Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.) and sophomore Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) won the LEC and NEA titles 4x200 in a conference and meet record time of 1:43.40.
