Men's Tennis Athletes of the Week for April 15, 2019

Player of the Week

Andrew Muttiah (Salem State) – Sophomore – Colombo, Sri Lanka
Muttiah was named the Little East Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week after going a combined 6-0 at first singles and first doubles during a 2-1 week for the Vikings. He started the week posting an 8-6 doubles win and a 6-2, 6-2 singles win in a non-conference setback to Johnson & Wales before notching an 8-2 doubles win and a 6-0, 6-0 singles victory Salem State's 9-0 non-conference win over Suffolk. Muttiah wrapped up the week posting an 8-2 doubles win and a 6-0, 6-1 singles triumph in the Vikings' 6-3 LEC victory over Rhode Island College.

Rookie of the Week

Roy Platteel (UMass Boston) – Freshman – Holbrook, Mass.
Platteel was named the Little East Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week after going a combined 4-0 at No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles during a 2-0 week for the Beacons. The freshman posted a pair of shutout wins in doubles action for the week. He was a 7-5, 7-5 singles victor in a 9-0 non-conference win over Curry and tallied a 602, 6-2 singles victory in UMass Boston's 8-1 LEC triumph over Western Connecticut.
