NABC Places Keene State’s Nichols on All-District Team

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Keene State College senior forward Ty Nichols (Springfield, Mass.) had been named a First Team All-District selection by the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC), it was announced by the organization Wednesday. This comes just two days after being named the 2018-19 Northeast Region Player of the Year by D3hoops.com.

Nichols led the Owls to an overall record of 20-8 as they earned a share of the LEC regular season championship before going on the claim the 2019 LEC Championship Tournament title as the No. 1 Seed. The 2018-19 LEC Player of the Year's 27.4 points per game are the most in the league this season and rank him third in all of NCAA Division III. Nichols ranks among the league leaders in rebounding (eighth, 7.2 rpg), assists (third, 138), steals (second, 72), field goal percentage (sixth, 50.4%), 3-point shooting (fifth, 39.2%) and free throw percentage (fifth, 82.5%).

The three-time First Team All-Conference pick was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2019 LEC Championship Tournament, and was recently selected to participate in the 2019 Reese's® Division III College All-Star Game that will take place prior to the 2019 NCAA DIII Championship final.
