PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The Little East Conference through partnership with their official web-streaming broadcast partner, Stretch Internet, has announced the release of the official Little East Conference Roku channel. The free subscription to the Little East Conference Roku channel allows fans access to all LEC games live or on-demand and can be found by searching for “Little East Conference” on the Roku Channel Store.
The Little East Conference is the first NCAA league in New England to stream games via a Roku channel. Roku pioneered streaming for TV and has grown to more than 13 million monthly active accounts. Roku is known for streaming innovation and offers content providers the best way to reach streaming audiences with over nine billion hours of video and music streamed in 2016.
“The Little East Conference continues to be a leader in technology innovation...the first NCAA Division III league to webcast all conference games, the first NCAA conference in New England to utilize Stretch Internet's multi-platform Game Central 2.0 and now the first NCAA league in New England to launch a Roku channel," said Cora H. Brumley, LEC Commissioner. "This partnership enhances the LEC's commitment to provide our membership a comparative advantage in the student-athlete experience, fan engagement and institutional recruitment."
“The Little East Conference has always prided itself on being one of the most technologically advanced conferences in Division III athletics, and our new Roku Channel is a great example of that,” said Charlie Titus, LEC Athletic Directors Council Chair/Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Recreation at UMass Boston. “The Little East continues to evolve and create new ways for fans to follow some of the most dedicated and talented athletes in the country. I hope student-athletes, coaches, and fans appreciate the time spent in developing new initiatives as the Little East continues to grow at a national level.”
The Little East Conference will continue to also webcast its 19 sponsored sports via www.LittleEast.Tv.
The Little East Conference was formed in 1986 when six public institutions gathered to create a single sport athletic conference and has expanded into what is now New England's premier athletic conference for public institutions in NCAA Division III. The LEC features 19 Championship Sports and sponsors quality competition in every season for our student athletes while following the Division III mission of passion, responsibility, sportsmanship and citizenship.
