Levesque Earns ECAC Division III New England Award

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Rhode Island College senior third baseman Gary Levesque (East Providence, R.I.) earned his second weekly award in the past 24 hours, when the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) named him the New England Co-Player of the Week. Levesque shared the regional award with Wheaton College's (Mass.) freshman designated hitter Sean Ryan (Norton, Mass.).
The East Providence, R.I. product batted .583 (7-for-12) from the plate with five extra base hits, including three home runs, and seven RBI to register a 1.500 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage to help the Anchormen to a 2-1 mark on the week. Levesque recorded multiple hits in all three games, including a 3-for-4 performance against Southern Maine. In the nightcap against the Huskies, he belted a trio of home runs and drove in six RBI to lead Rhode Island College to a conference doubleheader sweep.

A starter in nine of his 10 games this season, Levesque is 16-for-30 (.533) from the dish with five home runs and 13 RBI, while scoring 13 runs. The senior third baseman has logged at least one hit in nine contests, including five multi-hits games. In the season-opening win over Sulfork University, Levesque went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, a double, and a RBI.
