NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. Rhode Island College captured a pair of the four major awards for the 2009 Little East Conference womens outdoor track and field season. NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. The 2009 New England Alliance/Little East Conference Track and Field Championships will be hosted by Westfield State College on Saturday, April 25 at the Jerry Gravel Track, beginning at 11 a.m. The University of Southern Maine captured the 2008 Little East Conference mens and womens outdoor championship. The 13th annual New England Alliance Championship will feature a 12-team field with six institutions each from the Little East Conference and Massachusetts State Athletic Conference (MASCAC).

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Rhode Island College womens outdoor track and field team captured the Coast Guard Invitational title with 135 points, outdistancing second place Westfield State by 30 points. Thirteen teams took part in the meet. Sophomore Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the 100m hurdles (16.81), second in both the 400m hurdles (1:09.48) and the 4x400m relay (4:17.51) and fifth as part of the 4x100m relay (53.70).
