Track Athlete of the Week
Linee Mello-Frost (New Bedford, Mass.), Sophomore, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth


At the Silfen Invitational, Mello-Frost won the 100 meter hurdles in 16.34 seconds, which qualified her for the ECAC Championships. She also was a member of the 4 x 100 meter relay team, which finished fourth in 52.45 seconds.

Field Athlete of the Week
Jermai Harrison (Brockton, Mass.), Sophomore, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
Harrison broke the school record when she won the shot put at the Silfen Invitational with a toss of 39 feet, 3 ½ inches. She was also third in the discus at 108 feet, four inches,

Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Bethany Dumas (Augusta, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Dumas had another outstanding day at the Aloha Relays held at Bowdoin College. She posted the Huskies' only win in the meet, capturing the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 7.10 seconds. She also placed second in the pole vault by clearing 3.40 meters (11-1 3/4) and third in the javelin with a throw of 33.88 meters (111-2).

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Kim Mangum (Warwick, R.I.), Freshman, Rhode Island College

Mangum finished second in both the long (5.17m) and triple jumps (10.70m), while placing third in the high jump (1.40m)as the Rhode Island College women's outdoor track and field team captured the Silfen Invitational, finishing first amongst a 13-team field with 133.50 points. They outdistanced second place Worcester State by 2.50 points.
