Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Artesani (Orono, Maine), Junior, University of Southern Maine


Artesani won two events Saturday at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational, taking the top spot in the 100 and 200 meters. Artesani won the 100 meters in a time of 13.10 seconds, and took the 200 by over a full second with a time of 27.06.

Field Athlete of the Week
Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, R.I.), Senior, Rhode Island College

Fleming established a new program record in the high jump with a first place, 1.68m-effort. She also won the long jump (4.60m), second in the 4x400m relay (4:17.51) and fifth in the 800m (2:27.82) as the Rhode Island College women's outdoor track and field team captured the Coast Guard Invitational title with 135 points, outdistancing second place Westfield State by 30 points.

Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Emily Peterson (Weare, N.H.), Freshman, Keene State College

Peterson finished seventh in the 100-dash (14.14) and seventh in the 200-meter race (29.35) at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational.

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Bethany Dumas (Augusta, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Dumas won two events and placed second in two others for the Huskies Saturday at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational. Dumas won the javelin with a facility record throw of 37.27 meters (122-3), while placing second in the pole vault (3.36 meters (11-0 1/4) and the long jump  (4.65 meters (15-3 1/4). On the track, Dumas took first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.54 seconds.
