Track Athlete of the Week

Hattie Landry (Acton, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Landry turned a pair of first place finishes to lead University of Southern Maine to a third place finish at the 2008 Bowdoin College Aloha Relays Saturday afternoon. The native of Acton, Maine won both the 100-meter hurdles and long jump events, while taking second in the 200-meter dash in a spectacular individual performance for the Huskies. Landry claimed the top spot in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.46 seconds, smashing her previous school record in the process. She bested her previous time of 15.60 seconds in the event, which was set in May of 2007. In the long jump, Landry's distance of 5.20 meters (17-00.75) equaled the fourth longest distance in Southern Maine history and was good enough for first place. In the 200-meter dash, Landry turned in a time of 26.87 seconds for a second place mark. 

Field Athlete of the Week

Crystal Blamy (Walpole, N.H.), Senior, Keene State College

Blamy was victorious in the high jump event at the Springfield College Invitational this past weekend. The Walpole, N.H. product cleared 1.60 meters to take home top honors.     

Rookie Athlete of the Week

Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, R.I.), Freshman, Rhode Island College

DiBlasi posted a pair of top-three finishes at the Silfen Invitational this past weekend at Connecticut College. The freshman from Smithfield, R.I. won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.35, while finishing third in the 100-meter hurdles (17.00).

Field Athlete of the Week

Bryanna Brown (Nashua, N.H.), Freshman, Keene State College

Brown captured the shot put title at the Springfield College Invitational this past week with a toss of 11.81 meters.
