Blamy wins high jump at Division III New England Championships

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Keene State senior Crystal Blamy (Walpole N.H.) continued her preparation for the national meet by winning the high jump event (5'-05.00") at the New England Division III Track and Field Championships held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Saturday.

In other field events, junior Samantha Hirsh (Holliston, Mass.) was second in the javelin (136'-01") and freshman Bryanna Brown (Nashua, N.H.) placed fourth in the shot-put (38'-11.75").

On the track, sophomore Kaley Griffin (Manchester, N.H.) was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.84), senior Laura Kintz (Jaffrey, N.H.) was sixth in the 100 dash (12.93), and sophomore Katelyn Carr (Scituate, Mass.) was eighth in the 800 (2:18.84).

Senior Shaylin Deignan (Londonderry, N.H.), sophomore Kimber Stannard (Higganum, Conn.), Griffin and Kintz teamed up to take fifth in the 4x100 relay (50.65).

The Keene State women finished 10th in the 28-team field with 35 points.  Williams won the championship with 111 points.

Freshman Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.) continued his fine fist season with the Owls by placing second in the discus (145'-08"), and improving on his NCAA provisional qualifying mark with his fourth place finish in the hammer (173'-04").

Also scoring for the Owls were sophomore Jared Samuel (Londonderry, N.H.), who was fourth in the 5,000 (15:01.81) and sophomore Frank Radlof (Milford, N.H.), who was sixth in the decathlon (5,343 points).

KSC was 15th in the 21-team field with 21 points. Williams also claimed the men's title with 151 points.
