UMass Dartmouth Earns Top Seed In Little East Conference Tournament

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.- The University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth earned the top seed in the upcoming Little
East Conference Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament after
completing the conference circuit with an unblemished 7-0 record.
The winner of the team tournament will represent the Little East
Conference in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Bridgewater State College, Rhode Island College and Western
Connecticut State University round out the top four seeds in the
eight-team field, respectively. The top-four seeds earn the right
to host quarterfinal round action on Tuesday, October 14. The four
victors will advance to a final four format at the highest
remaining seed on October 18-19.
UMass Dartmouth will host eighth-seeded University of Southern
Maine (0-7), while the Bears (6-1) welcome seventh-seeded Salem
State College (1-6). The Anchorwomen (5-2) will host sixth-seeded
University of Massachusetts Boston (2-5), while the Colonials (4-3)
will square off against fifth-seeded Plymouth State University
(3-4).
