NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The University
of Massachusetts Boston captured the No. 1 seed in the Little East
Women's Soccer Championship when the conference office announced
the six-team tournament field this evening. The Beacons clinched
the program's first regular season title with a victory at Plymouth
State to earn home field advantage throughout the tournament.
UMass Boston (16-2) and Eastern Connecticut State University
(9-6-2) each earned a share of the Little East regular season
title, but the Beacons secured the No. 1 seed with a 1-0 in Boston
on Oct.13. The Warriors have claimed at least of share of the past
three conference regular season championships.
The Little East Conference will sponsor two first round matches.
Fourth-seeded Keene State College (11-8-1) will host fifth-seeded
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (11-4-2) at 6 p.m. on
Wednesday, October 31. Sixth-seeded University of Southern
Maine (3-13) will travel to third-seeded Western Connecticut State
University (14-3-2) at 6 p.m. on Thursday. November 1.
Top-seeded UMass Boston will host the winner between the Owls and
Corsairs, while Eastern Connecticut will square off against the
winner between the Colonials and Huskies on Saturday, November 3.
The two victors will meet at the highest remaining seed on Sunday,
November 4. The champion of the 2012 Little East Women's Soccer
tournament will earn the automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division
III Women's Soccer Championship.

Tournament Central. Little East Tournament Central will provide the
multi-media links, tournament pairings, and past results for the
conference's five fall championships.
Formed in 1986, the Little East serves as New England's premier
athletic conference for public institutions in NCAA Division III.
