Hirsh Earns ECAC New England Honors

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Keene State College senior
goalkeeper Samantha Hirsh (Holliston, Mass.)
earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New
England Defensive Player of the Week honors this afternoon. Less
than 24 hours earlier, she was tabbed the Little East Conference
Goalkeeper of the Week.
Hirsh stopped all five shots she faced this past week to backstop
the Owls (8-2) a pair of victories. The senior keeper from
Holliston, Mass. did not allow the opposition to score in 109
minutes and 21 seconds of action. She came on in relief to play the
final 32 minutes and seven seconds at Clark, while earning the
start against Little East Conference rival Plymouth State
University on Sept. 28. Hirsh made three saves in the 77 minutes
and 14 seconds before giving way to her back up in a 4-0 victory
over the Panthers.
In seven appearances on the campaign, she currently
ranks among the Little East Conference leaders in goals
against average (3rd, 0.95), while ninth in save percentage (.737).
Hirsh has held her opposition scoreless over the past 141 minutes
and six seconds, which spans three matches. She logged
Keene State's lone individual shutouts this season at Western New
England on Sept. 3.
Keene State College returns to action at 5 p.m., when the Owls host
