Eastern Connecticut to host Women's Basketball Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Eastern
Connecticut State University has earned the top seed and right to
host the 2009 Little East Women's Basketball Tournament this
weekend, Feb. 27-28, at the Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium. Each of
the top four seeds in the tournament advanced into the semifinal
round and will compete for the automatic berth into the NCAA
Division III Tournament.
Eastern Connecticut and fourth-seeded Keene State College will meet
at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night, while second-seeded Western
Connecticut and third-seeded University of Southern Maine will play
in the nightcap at approximately 7:30 p.m. The championship game is
scheduled for 4 p.m. the following evening.
