Howell and Sheehan join KSC volleyball staff
KEENE, N.H. 8/22/07 - Keene State College head
women's volleyball coach Bob Weiner has announced
some changes to his coaching staff for the upcoming season. After
serving as a volunteer assistant the past two years, Lloyd
Sheehan officially comes on board as an assistant coach.
Kristine Howell also joins the program as a
first-year assistant.
This is not the first time Sheehan and Howell have hooked up on the
court. Sheehan coached Howell at both Mescenic Regional High School
and St. Anselm College.
Mescenic's female athlete of the years as senior, Howell, a Concord
native, played four-years at St. Anselm's College where she was a
senior captain and a two-time recipient of All-Northeast-10
second-team honors. Moving into the coaching ranks, Howell has
worked with several club programs and served as junior varsity
coach at Interlakes and Concord High Schools.
After leading Mescenic to numerous volleyball and softball state
championships, Sheehan was hired to resurrect the women's
volleyball program at St. Anselm College.
In his final two seasons the Hawks posted 20 and 19 wins
respectively.
Returning to the high school level as an assistant at Souhegan
Regional, Sheehan helped lead the team to the 2004 state Class I
championship.
Named the NHIAA coach of the year in both volleyball and softball,
Sheehan founded the NHIAA boys' volleyball program and co-founded
the N.H. Volleyball Coaches Association.
