NEW ORLEANS – The UMass Boston women's indoor track & field team will enter this weekend's NCAA Division III National Championships as the No. 2 ranked team in the nation according to the final U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) ranking of the season.
The Beacons climbed two spots to their highest national ranking in program history following the announcement of the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championship participants. Sophomore Wadeline Jonathas will compete in the 60, 200 and 400-meter dash and the long jump; she enters the championship with the No. 1 mark in the country to-date in each of those events. Senior Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.) will also compete in the long jump after recording the fifth-best mark in the nation during the season.
The 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place March 9-10 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham Southern College and the Birmingham CrossPlex will serve as hosts of this year's national championships.
