Lotti Wins Third Straight Player of the Year Award

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East Conference announced its annual all-conference teams and end of the season awards this afternoon after a vote by the eight head coaches. Rhode Island College senior Christie Lotti (Waterford, Conn.) and second baseman Amanda Perry (New Bedford, Mass.) were selected Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Western Connecticut State University senior Shelby Slie (Seymour, Conn.) earned Pitcher of the Year honors, while Eastern Connecticut State University boss Diana Pepin was named Coach of the Year.
Little East earns 3 NCAA Softball Tournament bids

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East Conference will be well represented in the 2008 NCAA Division III Tournament as the NCAA Division III Selection Committee awarded the conference three bids into the 59-team field, according to the tournament pairings released this morning. Rhode Island College captured the automatic berth by winning the Little East Conference Championship Tournament, while Eastern Connecticut State University and Western Connecticut State University earned two of the 18 national at-large bids.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East Conference continued to accept postseason invitations this afternoon as Keene State College and Plymouth State University earned berths into the eight-team Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III New England Softball Tournament. Earlier this morning, the Little East Conference accepted three bids to the NCAA Division III Tournament, securing two of the possible 18 at-large berths.
