NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. The Little East Conference announced its annual mens cross country awards this afternoon after a vote by the conferences head coaches. The University of Southern Maine junior Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine) was named the Male Runner of the Year, while freshman Alex Gomes (Peabody, Mass.) was selected the Rookie Runner of the Year. University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Jon Hird was tabbed the Coach of the Year.

HANOVER, Ind. -- Junior Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine/Mountain Valley) and freshman Alex Gomes (Peabody, Mass.) of the University of Southern Maine mens cross country team each posted a Top 100 finish Saturday at the NCAA Division III National Championship held at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. Jasud finished 43rd among the 278 finishers while Gomes came home in 97th place overall. Jasud covered the eight-kilometer course in a time of 25 minutes, 5.35 seconds.

WESTFIELD, Mass. Keene State College Owls captured the programs 10th Little East Conference Mens Cross Country Championship this afternoon, outdistancing themselves by eight points from second place University of Southern Maine. Huskies junior Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine) covered the 8-kilometer course at Stanley Park in a time of 25 minutes and 41.87 seconds to win the individual title. The Owls raised the LEC trophy for the first time in three years...
