NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. The Little East Conference office announced its annual mens cross country major awards this afternoon after a vote by the conferences coaches. University of Southern Maine senior Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine) was named the runner of the year for the second straight season, while University of Massachusetts Dartmouth freshman Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, Mass.) was selected as the rookie runner of the year. Keene States Peter Thomas was tabbed as the coach of the year, while Rhode Island College earned the inaugural team sportsmanship award.

for the University of Southern Maine Huskies mens cross country program.

KEENE, N.H.Senior Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine) became just the third runner in the 13-year history of the New England Alliance mens cross country championship to repeat as the individual champion, covering the 8-kilometer course at the Owl Athletic Complex in a time of 26 minutes, two seconds this afternoon to lead the University of Southern Maine to the team championship. The Huskies placed five runners in the top-10 of the individual standings to earn the programs second title in the past three years.
