Men’s Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Jon Letendre (Rumford, R.I.), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Letendre was the top Little East Conference runner at the 2009 ECAC Division III Championships this past weekend, covering the 8-kilometer course in a time of 27 minutes, 35.8 seconds to place 22nd overall out of a field of 296 runners. The senior from Rumford, R.I. paced the University of Southern Maine to a seventh place finish in the team standings.

Rookie Runner of the Week
Matthew Macedo (North Scituate, R.I.), Freshman, Rhode Island College

Macedo led all Little East freshman runners at the 2009 ECAC Division III Championships this past weekend in Williamstown, Mass. He covered the 8-kilometer course in a time of 28 minutes, 12.7 seconds to place 50th overall in the individual standings.

Women’s Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, R.I.), Junior, Rhode Island College

Desrosiers paced all Little East runners at the 2009 ECAC Division III Championships this past weekend, covering the 6-kilometer course in a time of 25 minutes, 25.8 seconds. Rhode Island College placed 16th overall in the 39-team field.

Rookie Runner of the Week
Lisa Sander (South Windsor, Conn.), Freshman, Keene State College

Competing at the 2009 ECAC Division III Championships this past weekend, Sander was the first Little East freshman to cross the finish line. She completed the 6-kiometer course in a time of 27 minutes, 31.8 seconds to place 140th overall in the 275 runner field.
