Men’s Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Dave Hunt (New Milford, Conn.), Senior, Eastern Connecticut State University


Hunt outran a field of 19 runner to win a dual meet with Rhode Island College on Saturday, covering the 8-kilometer course at Mansfield Hollow State Park in 26 minutes, 26 seconds. It was second individual title for the senior this season.

Rookie of the Week
Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, Mass.), Freshman, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth


Franisco was the third UMass Dartmouth runner to cross the finish line at the Albany Invitational Saturday, placing 80th overall with a time of 26 minutes, 22 seconds. The Corsairs finished 13th in the 30-team field for the five mile race, which included NCAA Division I, II and III teams.

Women’s Cross Country

Runner of the Week

Carly Dion (Biddeford, Maine), Junior, University of Southern Maine


Dion paced Southern Maine to a fourth place finish at the State of Maine Championship held at Colby College. Dion covered the hilly, 5,000-meter course in a time of 19 minutes, 57.2 seconds to finish 12th overall. Dion was the first of three consecutive Huskies’ runners to cross the line.

Rookie Runner of the Week
Jennie Foley (Bangor, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine


Foley was the second Southern Maine runner across the line, finishing 13th overall, and helping the Huskies place fourth among eight teams at the State of Maine Championship. Foley covered the hilly, 5,000-meter Colby College course in a time of 20 minutes, 10.4 seconds. Foley was second finisher among freshmen runners in the race.
