Men's Cross Country

Runner of the Week

Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Jasud was one of four Southern Maine runners to cover the eight-kilometer course in under 26 minutes as the Huskies finished as the top Division III squad at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships in a field that includes New England teams from the Division I, II and III levels. Jasud turned in a stellar time of 25 minutes, 18 seconds. 

Rookie of the Week
Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, Mass.), Freshman, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

Francisco finished as UMass Dartmouth's second runner and 11th overall at the James Earley Invitational. The Dartmouth, Mass. product covered the Westfield State course in a time of 27 minutes as the Corsairs captured the team championship.

Women's Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Andrea Walsh (Bolton, Conn.), Sophomore, Keene State College

Walsh was Keene State's top finisher at the New England Championships at Franklin Park on Saturday. The sophomore placed 93rd overall with a time of 19 minutes, 21 seconds on the 5-kilometer course.

Rookie of the Week
Jennie Foley (Bangor, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine


Foley helped Southern Maine win the team title at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State College by placing 10th among the 266 finishers. Foley covered the 5,000-meter Stanley Park course in a time of 20 minutes, 8.49 seconds to lead a trio of Huskies runners to 10th-11th-12th place results, respectively.
