Men's Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Brandon Schillemat (Nelson, N.H.), Sophomore,  Keene State College

Schillemat was the Owls' top finisher, placing second at the Keene State College Invitational. The Nelson N.H. native posted a season-best time of 26 minutes and 23 seconds on the five mile course. The Owls won its own meet for the 10th time in the past 11 years with six harriers placing in the top-10. 

Rookie of the Week
Alex Gomes (Peabody, Mass.), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Gomes helped the Huskies to their third win in four event this season with his eighth-place finish at the Pop Crowell Cross Country Invitational held at Gordon College. Gomes was the second of Southern Maine's five runners to finish in the top 20. He covered the five-mile circuit in 27 minutes, 12 seconds. The Huskies took the team title with 58 points.


Women's Cross Country


Runner of the Week

Gabby Cyr (Fort Kent, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Cyr was the first Southern Maine finisher and third overall at the Pop Crowell Cross Country Invitational held at Gordon College. She completed the five-kilometer course in 18 minutes, 52 seconds. The Huskies finished ninth among the 25 schools competing.

Rookie of the Week

Heather Pierce (Buckland, Mass.), Freshman, Keene State College

Pierce finished seventh overall at the Keene State College Invitational as the Owls capture the team championship with 34 total points.  The freshman from Buckland, Mass. was the third Keene State runner to cross the five-kilometer in 19 minutes and 31 seconds.
