Men's
Cross Country
Runner of the Week
Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine), Junior, University of Southern
Maine
The second-year runner won his second straight race capturing the
top spot at the University of New England Cross Country
Invitational. Jasud covered the five-mile course in a time of 28
minutes and one second to sit atop the overall standings and lead
the Huskies to their second straight team win with 16 total
points.
Rookie of the Week
Kevin Gilmore (Hanson, Mass.), Freshman, UMass
Dartmouth
In his collegiate debut, Gilmore won the Travis J. Fuller
Invitational and led UMass Dartmouth to the team championship this
past weekend at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He covered the
five-mile course in a time of 26 minutes and two seconds.
Women's Cross
Country
Runner of the Week
Gabby Cyr (Fort Kent, Maine), Senior, University of
Southern Maine
Cyr took top individual honors in leading Southern Maine to a first
place finish at the University of New England Cross Country
Invitational. Cyr, despite going off course just before the
two-mile mark and having to overtake five runners to win the race,
completed the hilly, 5,000-meter course with a time of 21 minutes
and five seconds. Southern Maine captured the top three spots and
posted a team total of 28 points.
Rookie of the Week
Courtney Testa (Hopkinton, Mass.), Freshman, UMass
Dartmouth
At the Travis J. Fuller Invitational, Testa covered the course in a
time of 19 minutes and nine seconds to earn a second-place finish
in her first collegiate race for UMass Dartmouth.
