Track Athlete and Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Justin Vigeant (Wells, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine


Vigeant was named the Alan G. Hillman Memorial Most Valuable Track Athlete Award at the State of Maine Championships this past weekend. The native of Wells, Maine won a pair of individual titles and ran a leg on two winning relay teams.  He took the 100-meter dash title with a time of 11.10 seconds in the finals, and came back to win the 200 meters in a school-record, and NCAA provisional qualifying, time of 21.74 seconds. Vigeant ran the lead-off leg of Southern Maine's winning 4 x 100-meter and 4 x 400-meter relays. The 4 x 100 relay set a school record with its time of 42.90 seconds.

Field Athlete of the Week
Bryan Kolacz (Brentwood, N.H.), Sophomore, Keene State College

Competing at the Springfield College Invitational on Saturday, Kolacz won both the hammer (56.78-meters) and discus (45.72-meters) events. Keene State finished seventh in the 11-team standings with 55 points.                  

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Mattia Zagon (Portland, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Zagon won an individual state title and ran a leg of winning relay team at the State of Maine Championships. He won the long jump by matching the school record with a leap of 6.91 meters (22-8), and ran a leg of the Huskies winning 4 x 100-meter relay team that posted a school-record time of 42.90 seconds. Zagon also scored in the 200 meters, finishing sixth with a time of 22.74.
