Track Athlete of the Week
Doug Mercer (Laconia, N.H., Senior, University of Southern Maine

Mercer helped Southern Maine to a third place finish at a four-team meet at Colby College by winning the 400 meters (49.59) and placing fourth in the 200 meters (23.20). He qualified for the New England Division III Championships and ECAC Division III Championships in the 400.

Field Athlete of the Week
Evan Davis (Fair Haven, Vt.), Sophomore, University of Southern Maine

Davis set a school record in the high jump clearing 1.90 meters (6-2 3/4) to win the event at a four-team meet at Colby College. He also took a second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.13) and a third in the 400-meter hurdles (56.86). His marks qualified him for all three events at the upcoming New England Division III Championships, and he met the ECAC Division III standard in the high jump.

Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Justin Vigeant (Wells, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Vigeant posted a pair of second place finishes Saturday at Colby College. He was second in the 200 meters with a time of 22.53 seconds and in the 400 meters with a time of 49.86. The two times qualify him for both events at the New England Division III Championships, and his 400 time meets the ECAC Division III Championships standard.

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Mattia Zagon (Portland, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Zagon qualified for the New England Division III Championships with a leap of 6.58 meters to win the long jump event at Colby College as Southern Maine placed third in the four-team field. He also posted a top-three finish in the 200 meters, crossing the line third in 23.18 seconds.
