Track Athlete of the Week
Peter Najem (Derry, N.H.), Senior, Keene State College

Najem raced to a pair of first place finishes at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Track Meet at Fitchburg State College on Saturday. Najem won the 800 (1:58.00) and the 1,500-meter (4:07.79) races to help Keene State score 52 total points and finish sixth in the team standings.

Field Athlete of the Week
James Spaulding (Lewiston, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Spaulding set a school record en route to winning the long jump Saturday at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational held at Fitchburg State College. Spaulding earned the top spot among the 28 competitors with a winning jump of 6.91 meters (22-8) to break the previous record set in April 2001 by eight inches.

Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Toren Caesar (Darrel Spring, Tobago), Freshman, University of Massachusetts Boston

Caesar finished second in the 800 meters, just seven tenths of a second off the leader with a time of 1:58.70 in his only event at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational hosted at Fitchburg State College.

Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Orion Winkler (Brownfield, Maine), University of Southern Maine

Winkler won the pole vault Saturday at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational held at Fitchburg State College to help the Huskies to a second place finish among the 20 teams competing. Winkler cleared 4.19 meters (13-9) to win the event.
