Little East Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Report #2
Track Athlete
of the Week
Jeff Tretheway (Merrimack, N.H.), Sophomore, Keene State
College
Tretheway placed third overall in the mile at the highly
competitive Harvard Open this past weekend. The Merrimack, N.H.
product was the first Little East Conference runner to cross the
finish line, covering the track in four minutes, 20.33 seconds in
the 52-person field. Tretheway qualified for both the Division III
New England Championships and the ECAC Championships.
Field Athlete of
the Week
AJ Marden (Victory, Vt.), Freshman, University of Southern
Maine
Marden helped Southern Maine win the Preseason Invitational held at
Bowdoin College by winning the triple jump. The native of Victory,
Vt. covered 13.32 meters (43-8 1/2) to capture the event as the
Huskies posted the top-two distances. Marden's winning jump
qualified him for the New England Division III Championships and
ECAC Division III Championships.
Rookie Track
Athlete of the Week
Tim Even (Stoneham, Maine), Freshman, University of
Southern Maine
Even posted an individual victory and combined for a team medley
win as the University of Southern Maine sat atop the team standings
at the Preseason Invitational at Bowdoin College. The rookie middle
distance runner captured the 800 meters event with a time of
2:02.19, while and running the 800-meter leg of the Huskies'
winning distance medley relay (10:39.06).
