Little East Sweeps ECAC Men's Indoor Track Awards

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Little East
Conference swept the latest edition of the Eastern College Athletic
Conference (ECAC) Division III weekly awards. Keene State College
sophomore Jeff Tretheway (Merrimack, N.H.) was
named the Track Athlete of the Week, while University of Southern
Maine freshman A.J. Marden (Victory, Vt.) was
selected the Field Athlete of the Week.
Tretheway placed third overall in the mile at the highly
competitive Harvard Open this past weekend. The Merrimack, N.H.
product was the first Little East Conference runner to cross the
finish line, covering the track in four minutes, 20.33 seconds in
the 52-person field. Tretheway qualified for both the Division III
New England Championships and the ECAC Championships.
Marden helped Southern Maine win the Preseason Invitational held
at Bowdoin College by winning the triple jump. The native of
Victory, Vt. covered 13.32 meters (43-8 1/2) to capture the event
as the Huskies posted the top-two distances. Marden's winning jump
qualified him for the New England Division III Championships and
ECAC Division III Championships.
The Little East Conference and ECAC will resume their weekly
awards program on Jan. 5.
