Plymouth State’s Nick Rutherford Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District® Men’s Soccer Team

PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Plymouth State University senior forward Nick Rutherford (Sydney, Australia) has been named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Team in recognition of his success both on the field and in the classroom. As a First-Team selection, he advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration.

This marks the third consecutive Academic All-District honor for Rutherford, who was named a First-Team Academic All-American as a junior. The finance major was name a First-Team Little East All-Conference selection once again in 2017 after finishing second in the league in scoring with nine goals and a league-best 10 assists for 28 points 

To be eligible for the Academic All-America® program, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials and maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).  He/she must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
