NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Keene State College senior defensemen Kyle Barnett (Londonderry, N.H.) will represent the Little East Conference at the annual United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Men’s Lacrosse North-South All-Star Game at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 28 at Goucher College (Towson, Md.).

Barnett earned a spot on the 30-member North squad and will be joined by eight other student-athletes from New England institutions. The two-time All-Little East selection ranked among the national leaders in ground balls per game (61st, 5.42) during his senior campaign. A starter in all 19 games, Barnett anchored the conference’s second-ranked defense in caused turnovers (6.47 pg) and goals against average (9.45). Keene State held its opposition under 10 goals in 11 contests, including a span of five consecutive matches between April 20 and May 6. He was the lone Owl to scoop up over 100 ground balls on the season (103), while ranking second on the squad with 25 caused turnovers. Barnett reached double figures in ground balls twice this spring, including a season-best 11 against Salem State. He also contributed to the offensive rush with a career-high six points (6-6). He recorded his first collegiate marker against New England College on March 6. Barnett was honored as the defensive player of the week for the week ending April 11.

In his four years on campus in Keene, Barnett helped Keene State post an overall record of 47-14, including a 24-2 mark inside the conference circuit. The Owls earned a pair of berths into the NCAA Division III Tournament after capturing the Little East Tournament Championship. The Owls advanced to the second round in each appearance in the national field, including a 21-5 victory over Castleton State this year. A starter in 43 of his 46 games, Barnett collected 191 ground balls and caused 34 turnovers.

The North/South game began in 1940, when Baltimore hosted the inaugural game, and has been the site for 22 North/South contests, including the first seven games. The last time the North/South game was held in Baltimore was 2007 at Calvert Hall.
