PLYMOUTH, N.H. - After five successful seasons as head men's lacrosse coach at Plymouth State University, Andrew Brauch has resigned his position, effective on June 30.

Brauch steps down after guiding the Panthers to some of the best seasons in school history. He led PSU to ECAC post-season berths three of the past four seasons, including a runner-up finish in 2005 and the ECAC New England championship in 2007. Brauch directed the team to a 12-7 record this spring, tying the school mark for wins in a season, and the Panthers reached the Little East Conference championship game for the first time in the program's history.

"We would like to thank Andrew for the outstanding job he's done with our men's lacrosse program," said PSU Director of Athletics John Clark. "He took over a program that had gone through some tough times and gave us stability on the coaching staff and a positive attitude from the student-athletes. We're sorry to see him leave and we wish him the best."

Brauch led the Panthers to a 46-37 mark in his five seasons, and is the second-winningest coach in the program's history.

"It has been a pleasure being a part of the Panther athletic department," said Brauch. "I am leaving feeling great about the progress we have made and the direction PSU is headed. The future is bright for the program. Leaving the team was not an easy decision and I will always look back on this experience with nothing but positive thoughts. Fulfilling responsibilities of another full-time job has led me to take a break from coaching, but I wish the team and the athletic department all the best."

Clark indicated the search for a new coach begins immediately.
