PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Jaylen Leroy (Manchester, N.H.), Sophomore, Guard, Plymouth State
Leroy was named LEC Player of the Week for the first time this season after averaging 30 points and four rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Panthers, and now leads the league in scoring average at 23.6 points per game. He poured in 25 points with five rebounds in a 63-60 non-conference victory at Green Mountain to open the week. Leroy followed by scoring a career-high 35 points on 52 percent (13-25) shooting from the field with five threes in a non-conference contest against Johnson State.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Charles Mitchell (Boston, Mass.), Freshman, Guard, UMass Boston
Mitchell was named LEC Rookie of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Beacons, in which he shot 45.2 percent (14-31) from the field and 44.4 percent (8-18) from three. He scored a career-high 24 points with five rebounds and two steals at Suffolk before dropping in 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, including a 4-for-8 performance from downtown, to go with a career-best five steals in a 78-72 win over Eastern Nazarene.
