2017 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament Field Announced, Keene State Draws SUNY Cortland in First Round

INDIANAPOLIS – 2017 Little East Conference Field Hockey Champion Keene State College (14-8) will travel to SUNY Cortland (17-3) for the opening round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Wednesday, November 8. The game time is set for 2 p.m. in Central New York, and can be followed through LIVE VIDEO and LIVE STATS provided by the host Red Dragons.

Both programs made the NCAA tournament by receiving their league's automatic berth that comes with winning the conference championship tournament. The Owls won the LEC tournament for the fifth consecutive year with 9-0 victory over Westfield State University, while the 20th-ranked Red Dragons won the State University of New York (SUNYAC) tournament with a 5-0 decision over SUNY New Paltz.

The winner of Wednesday's match will face fourth-ranked The College of New Jersey Saturday. On the other side of Keene State's pod, Centre College and Washington and Jefferson College will meet in the first round, with the winner advancing to take on 12th-ranked Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the second round Saturday. The two second round winners will meet in the quarterfinal round Sunday.
