2012 Little East Field Hockey Championship Field
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The University
of Massachusetts Dartmouth clinched the top seed in the 2012 Little
East Field Hockey Championship when the conference office announced
the eight-team tournament field this evening. The Corsairs have
earned the No. 1 seed in the conference championship three of the
past four seasons.
The Little East Conference will sponsor three quarterfinal round
matches on Wednesday, October 31. Seventh-seeded University of
Southern Maine (9-11) will travel to second-seeded Bridgewater
State University (16-2). Sixth-seeded Salem State University (9-8)
will square off against third-seeded Keene State College (13-7),
while fifth-seeded Westfield State University (11-6) will face
fourth-seeded Plymouth State University (10-6). The remaining
quartefinal round contest will be played at 7 p.m. on Thursday,
November 1 when UMass Dartmouth (14-5) hosts eighth-seeded
Western Connecticut State University (5-12).
The four quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round
on Saturday, November 3. The winner between the Corsairs and
Colonials will face the winner between the Owls and Panthers, while
the winner between the Huskies and Bears will square off against
the winner between the Owls and Lady Vikings. The championship
round is scheduled to be played at noon on Sunday, November 4.

all the information from the 2012 Little East Fall Championships on
Tournament Central. Little East Tournament Central will provide the
multi-media links, tournament pairings, and past results for the
conference's five fall championships.
Formed in 1986, the Little East serves as New England's premier
athletic conference for public institutions in NCAA Division III.
