Hill Collects ECAC Division III Recognition

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - University of Southern
Maine senior Allison Hill (Cape Elizabeth,
Maine) was tabbed the Eastern College Athletic Conference
(ECAC) Division III New England Goalkeeper of the Week after
leading the Huskies to a 1-1 record. Shealso received the regional
award for the week ending Sept. 7.
On Sept. 23, Hill turned in a spectacular performance against
No. 1 Bowdoin College, making 18 saves and holding the Polar
Bears more than a goal below their scoring average (3.33
gpg). The Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week is
just the second backstop to limit the high-powered Bowdoin
attack to two or fewer markers. Later in the
week, she stopped nine of the 11 shots she faced to led
Southern Maine to a 3-2 victory against Little East Conference
rival Eastern Connecticut State University. Hill averaged 13.5
saves per game and a .871 save percentage for the week.
She currently sits atop the conference standings in saves (91,
13.0/g), while also ranking among the leaders in save percentage
(3rd, .867) and goals against average (9th, 1.95). Hill has
reached double figures in saves in five of her past
seven games, including a season-high 20 against
Maine-Farmington on Sept. 17. She earned her only shutout of
the campaign against Western Connecticut, stopping all 11
Colonial attempts.
Southern Maine (4-4, 2-1 LEC) returns to action tonight at 7
p.m., when the Huskies travel to Little East opponent Worcester
State College (5-3, 1-1).
