Little East Sweeps ECAC Field Hockey Awards

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East
Conference swept the latest edition of the Eastern College Athletic
Conference (ECAC) Division III New England field hockey weekly
awards program. Keene State College junior midfielder Erin
Dallas (Marlow, N.H.) was named the Offensive Player of
the Week, while University of Massachusetts Dartmouth junior
goalkeeper Seana Golden (Somerset, Mass.) was
tabbed Goalie of the Week.
The Little East Conference has been recognized by the ECAC in the
each of the past two weeks. University of Southern Maine junior
Allison Hill (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was named the
Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending Sept. 7.
Dallas led the Owls to a 3-0 mark this past week, scoring 10 points
on four goals and two assists. The Little East Conference Offensive
Player of the Week registered at least a point in all three games,
including a season-high seven points-a hat trick and helper-against
Western New England on Sept. 11. Two days later, she tallied her
fourth goal of the campaign against Little East rival Eastern
Connecticut as Keene State posted an 8-0 victory. Earlier in the
week, Dallas recorded a helper on the game-winning goal at No. 12
Springfield College as the Owls rallied for a 2-1 non-conference
win. She ranks among the conference leaders in assists (1st, 3),
goals (5th, 4) and points (5th, 11).
Golden backstopped the Corsairs to a pair of shutout victories this
past week, stretching UMass Dartmouth’s win streak to four
games. The Little East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week stopped
all 17 shots she faced to post a 0.00 goals against average and
1.000 save percentage in two games. She made a season-high 12 stops
at Wheaton College on Sept. 11, while turning back five against
Little East rival Bridgewater State two days later. In four starts,
Golden currently sits atop the conference standings in goal against
average (0.50), save percentage (.939), and shutouts (3), while
also ranking third in saves (31).
UMass Dartmouth returns to action this evening, when the Corsairs
travel to Trinity College (Conn.) (3-0) in a non-conference
contest. Keene State returns to action on Feb. 20, when the Owls
host Little East Conference rival Framingham State (3-0).
